Pregnancy Physiotherapy
Helping women through pregnancy, birth and beyond. Improve your pelvic floor function and strengthen your body pre and post-pregnancy.
What is the importance of a pelvic floor check after the birth of your baby?
We recommend that you come and see one of our women’s health physiotherapists around six weeks after the birth of your baby. You may have specific concerns or questions following the birth, or you may just want to check everything is okay.
The check will include an assessment of your pelvic floor function, your tummy gap, posture and breath. We also assess for any pain you may be experiencing and check any scars. If you are keen to return to exercise, we are able to guide you on reaching your fitness goals.
We can help you with:
Pregnancy-related pelvic, hip and back pain
Separation of abdominal muscles (rectus diastasis)
Wrist and hand pain, carpal tunnel syndrome and De Quervains
Blocked ducts and recurrent mastitis
Pelvic floor check after childbirth
Caesarean scar management
Return to exercise / running post-pregnancy
